‘Art is an amazing experience with colours’

Anaya Sagar is just a class 5 student at Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar. But when one sees her drawings, it is impossible to believe that such a young child possesses such incredible talent. 

Be it the genius of colours, the confidence in the strokes or the realistic drawings, all this leaves no doubt that she is an artist to watch out for. Selected as this week’s Apeejay Aspiring Artist, let us read what the young painter has to say about herself and her craft. 

Anaya, since when did you start drawing?

I started drawing when I was 6 years old. My first drawing was of a cartoon character.

You’re an early bird! So which art form do you like the most?

My favorite art form is Lippan art because it enhances my drawing skills. I also use brushes and colours that give a 3-D effect which looks beautiful.

How does your school support you as an artist?

When my school art teacher saw my drawing she was very impressed and said that I must submit my painting to the Apeejay Newsroom website for publication. All thanks to her that I am here today. 

 And you shall rise evermore! But do explain what art means to you?

I think that art is an amazing experience with colors and brushes .                                        

So how much time does it take you to complete an artwork? What are the common ideas and themes?

It takes me almost six or seven days to complete one painting

Any upcoming artworks?

I want to draw a painting of my family. It has been on my mind for a long while.                    

One new artform you wish to learn?

I want to learn realistic drawings. It fascinates me a lot.

Finally, other hobbies apart from art?

 I like cooking, playing ludo and snakes and ladders. I find these activities very relaxing and fun!
