Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, celebrated Plastic Day with an engaging and educational event for students from Nursery to Class II. Held in the school auditorium, the event aimed to foster environmental awareness and instil sustainable habits in young minds through creative expression and participation.

The auditorium was transformed into a vibrant, eco-friendly space adorned with green messages and upcycled decorations, setting the perfect backdrop for a meaningful celebration. Guided by their teachers, the young students enthusiastically took part in a series of well-curated activities that highlighted the harmful impact of plastic and encouraged environment-friendly alternatives.

A major highlight of the celebration was the awareness campaign through student-led skits. These short yet impactful performances effectively conveyed the dangers of plastic pollution and emphasised simple solutions that even children can adopt in their daily lives. The performances struck a chord with the audience, promoting the message that small steps can lead to significant change.

Adding a burst of colour and creativity to the event was the poster-making session. Using recycled materials, students designed powerful visual messages against plastic usage. Their thoughtful slogans and drawings reflected a strong understanding of environmental issues, proving that age is no bar when it comes to spreading awareness.

A particularly inspiring moment was the Plastic-free Pledge. With hands raised and hearts united, all students vowed to reduce plastic usage in their homes and surroundings. This collective commitment was a testament to the school’s effort to nurture environmentally conscious individuals.

The event also featured a Recycled Art Exhibition, where students showcased imaginative creations made from discarded plastic items such as bottles and wrappers. These unique pieces stood as symbols of innovation, responsibility, and the children’s deep concern for the planet.

“At Apeejay School, we believe in nurturing environmental consciousness from a young age. Our Plastic Day celebration was a powerful platform for students to understand sustainability through creativity and collaboration. I commend our students, teachers, and parents for their spirited involvement. It was heartening to witness our little ones take meaningful steps towards a greener future,” Dr Vineet Vasishtha, the Principal of the school, shared.

Concluding on a high note, the event left everyone inspired. Teachers commended the students for their spirited participation, while parents were urged to extend these practices into their daily routines. Through this celebration, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, reinforced its vision of cultivating responsible citizens who lead with awareness, creativity, and care for the environment.
