The enchanting spirit of Janmashtami, the joyous celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth, came to vibrant life at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Model Town, Jalandhar. This event brought together young students, parents, and teachers, all donned in traditional attire, to engage in a variety of cultural activities that left hearts brimming with joy.

The school’s auditorium was transformed into a realm of vibrant decorations, each element meticulously portraying the life and times of Lord Krishna. It was a sight to behold.

The highlight of the celebration was a mesmerising dance performance by the young talents of classes LKG and UKG, who gracefully moved to the tune of popular Krishna bhajans. Their rhythmic movements and colourful costumes weaved a spellbinding tapestry of devotion and artistry that left everyone in awe.

But the excitement didn’t stop there. One of the most thrilling moments of the day was the traditional “dahi handi” breaking ceremony, where students and participants enthusiastically attempted to break the pot filled with yogurt, following the age-old Janmashtami tradition. The cheers and laughter that filled the air added to the festive spirit.

As the day drew to a close, a delightful feast of traditional sweets and snacks awaited the children and participants. It was an opportunity to savour the flavours associated with Janmashtami, offering a delectable culmination to the day’s festivities.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed personalities, including Mr. Malkiat Singh, Principal of Apeejay School Model Town; Ms. Nidhi Ghai, Headmistress Pre-Primary; Ms. Namrata Sharma, Headmistress Primary and dedicated teachers who wholeheartedly contributed to making this Janmashtami celebration a resounding success. Their commitment to nurturing cultural understanding and celebrating traditions was evident throughout the event.

Overall, the Janmashtami celebrations were a vibrant affair that brought the joy and essence of Lord Krishna’s birth to life. It was a day filled with dance, traditions, cultural awakening, and a sense of unity among students, parents, and teachers, highlighting the importance of embracing our heritage and values from a young age.
