This school focuses on nurturing children’s academic, social, and personal development, shares Jasmin Das whose daughter Avni studies in class VI at Apeejay School, Kharghar. “This holistic approach contributes to their growth in a manner akin to the care they receive from their families,” she added.

Read on to learn how this school offers extracurricular activities and events that contribute to a child’s interests and passions, making them feel more connected and engaged.

Why did you choose Apeejay for admission?

We chose Apeejay for admission because we wanted Avni to get into a school which not only focuses on academics but also extracurricular activities for holistic growth. We were also looking for a merit-oriented school and Apeejay matched all our requirements.

How are the teachers here?

I believe school is the second home for a child. A child feels comfortable and safe in a school because of the teachers. The teachers are very cooperative here, they explain everything in detail, they also guide the students about the day-to-day activities and give timely feedback about the child in PTMs. From an academic point of view, teachers are excellent at imparting knowledge to the students here.

How has Avni’s journey been at school so far?

Avni joined Apeejay in nursery and now she is in class VI. She has been enjoying this journey throughout. She has been very good academically from the beginning. Apart from that she is a very inquisitive and social person and the school has helped her to take these qualities to the next level. She has become communicative and expressive of her views. She has learnt to shoulder responsibilities, has represented her school in many inter-school competitions (drawing, singing, dance, elocution, and storytelling) and won prizes.

What has she learnt academically?

Academically, Apeejay is a great school to study. Teachers explain concepts with utmost clarity, through projects and experiments. They always make a point to share extra information on the topic apart from what is there in textbooks. Avni appears in SOF Olympiad exams every year and scores good marks. In class V, she has been awarded the SOF English exam for securing a position in the Maharashtra zone.

Which extracurricular activities does she like at school?

Avni specifically enjoys dance, drawing and badminton. Over these years she has won prizes in drawing, handwriting, solo dance, storytelling, and extempore competitions held in school.

How are the school infrastructure and facilities?

Apeejay is a very old and renowned school in Kharghar and we are proud to be a part of this school. The school infrastructure and the facilities are good however looking at the current market standard it can be improved.

Do you think Apeejay is like a second home for your child?

Yes, Apeejay is like a second home for every child. For Avni, it’s the first home. She likes to go to school every day and gets upset when the school declares a holiday because she enjoys school rather than at home.

Are you happy and satisfied as a parent?

Yes! We are happy and satisfied with the school looking at the overall holistic development that Avni has attained over these years. The school has nurtured her very well in academics, extra-curricular activities and life skills. The school has channelised her talents on many platforms which has ultimately made her a confident, responsible and multi-tasker.
