It is said that one’s life changes after becoming a parent. After all, a parent has multiple things on their mind and one big worry for them is selecting the ideal school for their child. And why shouldn’t they worry, a school becomes the child’s grooming ground for the next 12 years.
Luckily, Priya Iyer is relaxed about the same as she finds the perfect place in Apeejay School, Nerul for her daughter Ananya Iyer. In a fun interview, the mother explains how the newly promoted class VII student struggles to find time for study. She also hints at her daughter’s myriad interests ranging from art, badminton, music, dance and even playing the piano.
Excerpts from an interview.
How was Ananya’s result in the class VI?
It was satisfactory. She scored great in Sanskrit, Marathi and Social Science. But she also faced a little bit of difficulty in Math. My child is strong in languages and has a keen interest in literature as well. She has also been enrolled in Math tutions recently, so I believe she will improve in it with time. Apart from studies, Ananya takes classes in music, dance, art, badminton and even piano. She is very versatile and at times, I have to ask her to cut down on the extracurricular part, as there is little time for academics.
Are the teachers doing justice to the students?
In one word the teachers are simply ‘amazing!’ I don’t have any complaints at all when it comes to them. I would love to mention Kiran ma’am, my daughter’s present Math teacher. She is a very capable educator. I am confident that my child will learn to love Math now. It is all easy once she develops an interest in the subject. I am sure the teacher will take care of it.
Was the admission process complicated?
Oh no! It was quite easy, rather very simple, truth be told. Ananya was enrolled here in Nursery and has been studying in this school ever since. She loves it here.
Would you recommend Apeejay School, Nerul to another parent for their child’s admission?
Definitely! My daughter has only progressed here. I will surely tell other parents that the school is both a safe haven and also a good grooming ground!
As a parent what makes the school stand-out for you?
To begin with, the school staff is extremely child-friendly. All the teachers are so interactive, both with the children and also with parents. Second, this school develops extracurricular skills of the child along with a sharp focus on academics. That to my mind is a great quality. After all, both skills are much needed in today’s world.
