Main factors that influenced your decision about this school.

First, the school has plenty of cultural activities. Those things are essential for the overall development of a child’s personality. The school is keenly invested in every child being properly focused not only on academics but also on extracurricular activities. Second, the methodology of teaching adopted here is quite different from that of other schools. For example, my daughter (Kashish, who is 11) presently studies in class VI. In our experience, we found the unique way of teaching followed here and the experienced, dedicated teachers.

How does the school help your son nurture his social, emotional, and cognitive skills?

They give individual attention to each child at school, so if a child is not grasping something, then help is provided. They inculcate many activities like games and their way of teaching is the most innovative, using stories and the sound method. So these things make the kids learn with fun. It is different from others, working not only on academics but also on all-round development for the child.

Any specific skill that you know your son has learnt since joining this school?

He has developed an interest in dancing; he has also learnt to express himself better. Now he can explain things clearly, which is a tremendous improvement. There are so many other activities that go on in the school, like poetry competitions, cooking competitions, and various extracurricular activities. All these things help in the all-round development of children.

Which activity does he enjoy most or has benefited from?

As I mentioned earlier, he, in particular, likes to dance and is learning bhangra. Moreover, the school is inculcating good eating habits in children. They are taught life skills like how to respect people, how to walk, and how to communicate with their peers and elders.

You do feel that learning this dance has helped him?

Yes, definitely. He is still very young to express it verbally, but we experience it during PTMs and all school-related activities. They do seem to enjoy the exposure and learn much from them. One can see that this is enriching for their growth and development.

How would you describe the interaction between parents and teachers here?

The interaction with parents and teachers is very good. They keep the updates and assignments updated in WhatsApp, which is quite convenient for parents. They also arrange PTMs and other school functions where they invite parents to participate in activities like dancing and cooking. All in all, great community building, and parents are actively involved in the children’s education.

What are some special practices of the school for your child’s safety?

There are several safety measures that the school takes. There are guards at the gates ensuring the safety of my daughter. As for my son, there are ayahs even in the washroom to keep a vigil on the toddlers. The environment is also air-conditioned, ensuring comfort for children to feel at home while they are playing or studying.

How does Apeejay involve parents in the child’s education and development?

Functions and activities in the junior classes are when the school involves parents. In the senior classes, through PTMs, parents are invited to interact with the teachers. They also brief them on how they can help the child in learning at home so that the same pattern of education is followed by the student at home as well.
