What’s more thrilling than to work up a sweat and get a trophy home? Isn’t it a great achievement when your sports team wins the school tournament? For sports fans, these are the epitome of hard work and dedication. And to get to the pinnacle of it, sports players give it all.

Inspired by their determination, Apeejay School, Model Town conducted the Annual Sports Day 2022. At the event, students of grade 1 and 2 participated in relay races, drag the ball, 50-metre dash, pick the ball and frog race, just to name a few. They proved their mettle by participating with both physical and mental strength necessary to face the challenges. “It was a wonderful experience to see our children working hard to energise their body. I too enjoyed it very much and got a chance to participate in the games,” says Sanah Sharma, mother of class student Suhaan.

The annual event also became an excellent opportunity to nurture the talent of up and coming sportspersons in the school. Ryan, a student, says, “I participated in the Sports day for the first time. Moreover, I won a gold medal. I highly appreciate my teachers’ efforts.”

While sports is about those incredible moments where human will and the desire to overcome odds reigns supreme, Aarti Gupta, mother of class 2 student Parth, says, “Apeejay School, Model Town has always focused on the overall development of a student. I experienced the same on Sports Day when I gave my son company to the event. In the past two years, students have got very little chance to venture out of their homes and engage in physical activity. I feel that the school has taken a great initiative in that regard to motivate the students and parents both. We saw how small games can really help in the development of kids and it was highly appreciable. The event was fun-filled and we got a chance to interact with the teachers, other parents and students as well.”

Parents participated enthusiastically in the tug of war and other fun games with great zeal and enthusiasm. At the close of the event, medals and certificates were awarded to all the participants and winners.
