As the golden hues of nostalgia illuminated the hallowed halls of Apeejay School, Noida, there existed a sacred ritual that transcended time itself. Alumni, bedecked in the tapestry of their shared memories, returned to their alma mater, hearts brimming with a symphony of emotions. There was an unmistakable air of reverence, an undercurrent of cherished moments etched into the very foundation of the institution. Each footstep retraced the well-worn paths of yesteryears, igniting echoes of laughter, camaraderie, and dreams once dreamed under the same familiar roof.
The walls, the echoing corridors, bore witness to the profound legacy woven by generations past. For the returning Apeejayites, this homecoming was not merely an event — it was a profound journey into the past, a pilgrimage of the heart.
In a splendid display of camaraderie and nostalgia, Apeejay School, Noida, played host to a memorable Alumni Dandiya Night in October, 2023. The event served as a cherished reunion for scores of proud Apeejayites, who returned to their school, reconnecting with cherished memories.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of the school’s sprawling grounds, the evening witnessed a diverse gathering of alumni spanning from the class of 1988 to the most recent 2022 cohort. This gathering provided a unique opportunity for graduates to rekindle old bonds, celebrate shared experiences, and bask in the joy of familiar faces.
Scheduled on the auspicious first day of Navaratri, the Alumni Dandiya Night transcended a mere social gathering. It soon metamorphosed into a cultural extravaganza, resonating with vibrant energy and a contagious sense of nostalgia. The event unfolded its magic from 6 pm, carrying on well into the night till 10 pm, as an air of excitement hung palpably.
Over 200 alumni, adorned in resplendent traditional attire, infused an infectious vitality into the ambiance. Dances and laughter reverberated as childhood friends, batch mates, and revered teachers shared the floor, blending seamlessly into a lively tapestry of memories. On-the-spot performances, both solo and group, added an extra layer of engagement, allowing participants to traverse down the lanes of their school days.
According to Ms Shilpi Mathur, Manager – Credit Control, Sopra Steria, (alumna of Batch 2004), “It was a memorable moment to meet all the teachers. A blessed day indeed! I look forward to the next meet; special thanks to the school for having me there.” Sharing a similar sentiment, Mr Siddharth Mathur, Analyst at Accenture (Batch of 2017) said, “It was such a fantastic evening! Really enjoyed myself.”
Culinary delights abounded, with food stalls offering a sumptuous dinner, complete with traditional Navaratri fare. The fusion of delectable cuisine and rhythmic beats cast a festive spell, heightening the emotional resonance of the evening.
In a significant development, the event witnessed the establishment of a 10-member Executive Body of OSAAN (Old Students Association Apeejay Noida). This body is poised to bolster a vast network of former students, becoming torchbearers of the school’s rich legacy and fostering deeper connections.
Principal, Ms Ritu Kohli, applauded the alumni for their pivotal role in the event’s success and encouraged the newly elected OSAAN members to mentor current students, offering unwavering support in their academic journeys. Each alumnus took an oath, pledging to uphold the school motto, “Soaring High is My Nature.”
Beyond the revelry, the evening served as an invaluable platform for alumni across different batches to share experiences, exchange professional achievements, and fortify new connections. It underscored the profound significance of maintaining ties with one’s roots and celebrating shared experiences.
As the day drew to a close, alumni left with a promise to convene regularly for similar gatherings in the future. The event succeeded not only in fostering a sense of community among the alumni but also in providing a robust platform for cultural celebration and networking.
The resounding success of this event has set an inspiring precedent for future alumni gatherings, reinforcing the imperative of nurturing connections and celebrating our collective heritage. It serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring power of shared experiences and the pivotal role they play in shaping lives.
