MBA students meet US education delegation in Delhi to explore academic courses

Faculty members from the college also discussed opportunities for student exchange programmes with US universities

Apeejay School of Management (ASM) director, Professor (Dr) Alka Munjal, and the International Linkages team comprising Dr Shweta Jha and Dr Akshita Arora were recently invited to attend a Trade Delegation for Education from the US, organised by the Embassy of The United States of America, US Commercial Service, American Centre at The Imperial Hotel, New Delhi. The team had scheduled nine meetings with senior delegates from California Baptist University, Georgetown University, Ohio Dominican University, Saint Martin’s University, Washington State University, University of Louisiana, University of Missouri, University of Kansas, and Virginia Commonwealth University. The team discussed collaboration opportunities for student and faculty exchange and immersion programmes. The possibilities for joint research projects and conducting international conferences together also emerged during the deliberations.

Among the delegates met were Bryan Davis, Dean of International Programs, California Baptist University; Kelly Otter, Dean of Georgetown University; Natalie T Chang, Director of International Education and Dr Manuel Martinez, Vice President for Academic Affairs from Ohio Dominican University; Dr Roger Douglas, Dean, International Programs & Development from Saint Martin’s University; Daniel Saud, Director International Programs, Dr Kelly Newlon, Director of Global Learning, International Programs from Washington State University; Dr Gabriel Carranza, Executive Director of Global Engagement from University of Louisiana; Dr Doug Swink, Assistant Vice Provost from University of Missouri; Dr Charlie Bankart, Associate Vice Provost for International Affairs from University of Kansas; and Marci Fradkin, Director of Global Partnerships from Virginia Commonwealth University, to name a few.

On the same day, a student fair was also organised where the students of ASM were invited to meet the U.S university representatives. They apprised the students about the education opportunities at their universities. The students also received many gift hampers from the foreign delegates for their active involvement in the event. ASM is determined to carry forward collaborations with these universities in the future.
