Maharashtra schools to reopen on Monday

Schools in Maharashtra will reopen for all classes from next week amid strict Covid-19 precautions, the state’s Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said. This will pave the way for the return of pre-primary students to school for the first time since the March 2020 lockdown. “A proposal has been sent to the chief minister. It states that reopening of schools should be considered from Monday and all the power to do so should be given to the local authorities (municipal commissioners, district collectors, chief executive officers, education officers,” the school education minister said.
