Education Ministry, UNESCO launch comic book to create awareness about social issues
Taking a collaborative move to promote awareness about social taboos and stereotypes among school children, UNESCO New Delhi, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), and the Ministry of Education of India recently released a comic book titled ‘Let’s Move Forward’.
The 32-page educational comic targets a wide range of topics such as healthy living, gender equality, substance abuse prevention, mental health, reproductive health, menstrual hygiene, and prevention against sexual violence. Further, it addresses internet safety and the responsibility that comes with social media usage.
This initiative also supports the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which connects quality education, gender equality, health and human rights. The comic book is available for reading on the Ministry of Education’s official website.
