An anesthetist at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket in New Delhi, Dr Faizana Mohmad moved to Delhi last year. Soon, she decided to enroll her four-year-old daughter, Amyra Amir, at Apeejay School International – South Delhi. In the bustling city, she found the school to be the best pick for Amyra due to its safe and encouraging environment. In the following interview, Dr Mohmad shares more. Read On, edited excerpts:

Please tell us about your first visit to the school.

On my visit, I liked its campus as it was lush-green and spotlessly clean. Further, when I met the educators, they assured me that my daughter will get one-on-one attention after her admission. And that is true!

Currently, Amyra is as per the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. And, the school’s staff has been very sensitive to our demands. Initially, she did not understand Hindi but that didn’t stop her learning. I am immensely satisfied with her progress at the school.

Why did you choose an IB curriculum for her?

A few of my relatives outside the country have opted for the said curriculum for their wards. They recommended it and found it to be quite effective and holistic. In the future, I think it may become easier for Amyra to study abroad as well.

Did you know about Apeejay’s IB school prior to her admission?

I was looking up some schools online during which Apeejay was well-rated. After that, I visited the school and made up my mind to enroll Amyra the same day! It was exactly what I wanted for her.

Please share Amyra’s milestones in the past one year.

She is picking up Phonetics. Through it, she is able to join letters, associate sounds and words efficiently. Now, she seems to be quite comfortable with numbers as well and her writing skills have improved.

Other activities such as painting and drawing pique her interest. Sports and yoga has been introduced by the school in which she is happy to participate. Overall, her development is quite on track. And, she comes home cheerful. She is learning in a very healthy way.

Would you recommend the school to other parents?

Definitely!
