Recently, Apeejay School, Saket, organised Bagless Days for students, creating a vibrant learning environment where students explored concepts through creativity, experimentation, collaboration and hands-on activities. The initiative provided learners with an opportunity to step beyond conventional classroom routines and engage with subjects in meaningful and enjoyable ways.

The two-day programme featured a diverse range of activities designed to encourage curiosity, imagination and experiential learning among students across different age groups. Each activity was thoughtfully planned to connect classroom concepts with practical experiences, enabling students to learn through observation, participation and exploration.

The younger learners participated in a Sikkim-themed Mask Making activity, where they explored the culture and visual traditions of the state while expressing their creativity through colours, patterns and artistic designs. The activity encouraged students to appreciate India’s rich cultural diversity while developing their fine motor skills and artistic expression.

Students also took part in a BRICS World Map Activity, which introduced them to the participating countries and their geographical locations in an interactive manner. Through this activity, learners strengthened their understanding of geography while developing awareness of different nations and cultures.

The Physics Lab Exploration offered students an opportunity to observe and understand the functioning of lenses, prisms and mirrors through practical demonstrations and experimentation. The hands-on approach helped make scientific concepts more accessible and engaging, encouraging students to observe, question and draw conclusions.

The Tangram-based learning activity further promoted logical thinking, spatial awareness and problem-solving skills. Students experimented with different shapes and arrangements, discovering how simple geometric pieces could be transformed into creative patterns and figures.

As part of the programme, students also participated in Green Heroes Badge Making, which encouraged awareness about environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. The activity inspired learners to reflect on the role they can play in protecting and caring for the environment.

Role-play activities added another engaging dimension to the Bagless Days, allowing students to express themselves, build confidence and develop communication and collaborative skills.

The two-day initiative successfully transformed learning into an engaging and memorable experience, giving students the opportunity to learn by doing while nurturing creativity, curiosity, confidence and essential life skills.
