ASMUN 6.0 unites young diplomats at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar

A grand two-day simulation of global dialogue, cultural expression and youth leadership at the city’s largest MUN conference

With the visionary guidance and blessings of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education; Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University; and Chairman, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, ASMUN 6.0, the city’s largest Model United Nations conference, unfolded with grandeur and enthusiasm at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, on August 1-2, 2025. The two-day event brought together 1,050 delegates from schools across the region, united in their mission to simulate diplomatic debates, drive meaningful discourse, and sharpen leadership skills.      

The event started with an awe-inspiring opening ceremony hosted in two grand sessions to accommodate the large delegate turnout. Dignitaries who graced the occasion included Mr Vivek Kumar Modi (IAS), Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar and Mr Gautam Jain, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, as Chief Guests for Sessions 1 and 2, respectively. The Guests of HonourMr. Simerjeet Singh, a globally acclaimed  motivational speaker, and Ms Divya Uppal, Senior Journalist at BBC, captivated the audience with thought-provoking messages. Mr Singh encouraged students to embody the 3 C’s: Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity, while Ms Uppal inspired students to build lives worth reading about.     

Among other esteemed dignitaries were Mr Balbir Singh Dhillon, Senior Deputy Mayor, Jalandhar; Mr Nirmal Mahajan, Member, Board of Governors; Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director, Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering; Dr Sucharita Sharma, Director, Apeejay Education; Dr Neerja Dhingra, Principal, Apeejay College of Fine Arts; and several prominent educators and administrators from across the Apeejay institutes. 

The ceremonial lighting of the lamp, soul-stirring invocation dance, powerful qawwali, vibrant bhangra, and a spirited flag march infused the event with cultural pride and youthful energy. The parade of nations followed, with student delegates proudly representing various countries. The Vice-principal Ms Aarti Shorey Bhatt, warmly welcomed the guests and introduced them to the audience. The stage was then taken by Hitanshu Alang, Secretary General of ASMUN 6.0, who declared the event officially open.

Over two days, committees buzzed with intelligent debates, sharp policy resolutions, and robust consensus-building. The sessions were intellectually enriching, giving students a platform to tackle real-world global issues with maturity and insight.

The closing ceremony on Day 2 celebrated not only the winners but every delegate who dared to speak, challenge, and negotiate. Ms Bhatt applauded the dedication and hard work of both the participants and the organising team. The event concluded on a high note with a vibrant social night, offering a joyful space for networking, bonding, and celebration.

With memories made, confidence boosted, and minds ignited, ASMUN 6.0 left an indelible mark, reinforcing Apeejay’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and global citizens.
