In today’s fast-paced digital age, nurturing a love for books and reading among students is more important than ever. Activities like book fairs play a pivotal role in promoting reading habits, improving language skills, and encouraging curiosity and creativity in young minds. Recognising this, Apeejay School, Noida, organised a vibrant and engaging three-day Book Fair from May 15-17, 2025, offering students a chance to explore the magical world of books beyond the classroom.

The fair was inaugurated on the morning of May 15 by the school’s Principal, Dr Neha Sharma, and Vice-principal, Ms Amrita Hajela, who set the tone for the event with their encouraging words. Held in the school premises, the fair featured a wide collection of books catering to different age groups and interests.

On May 15-16, all students from nursery to Class XII visited the fair along with their teachers. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as students browsed through the colourful displays, carefully noting down their favourite titles to prepare personal wish lists. To aid their selection, every child was given a brochure listing the available books, helping them make informed choices and encouraging independent decision-making.

The final day of the fair, May 17, was observed as the ‘Pay and Take’ Day. Students returned with their parents to purchase their selected books. Many middle and senior school students, enthusiastic readers themselves, also made their purchases during the first two days.

To make the event more engaging, several fun-filled activities were organised. Students of Classes I and II participated in a word puzzle challenge. Those who completed their puzzles were rewarded with attractive prizes, adding an element of excitement to their learning. For Classes III, IV, and V, a unique ‘Talent Book Hunt’ was conducted. The activity witnessed spirited participation, with winners being felicitated for their efforts.

The Book Fair concluded on a high note, having successfully instilled a renewed interest in reading among students. It served as a joyful celebration of books and proved to be a valuable step towards fostering lifelong readers within the school community.
