As an Apeejay alumnus, Anup Gautam was sure about enrolling his son Animesh in Apeejay Model Town. His son will be promoted to class 6 this academic year. In an interview, the father, who is a practising lawyer for 18 years now, appreciates how the teachers at school dedicate their efforts towards the upliftment of every student. Edited excerpts:

How did you decide to enroll your child at Apeejay Model Town?

I too did my schooling at Apeejay School Model Town, followed by Apeejay Mahavir Marg. During my time, it was the best school in Jalandhar. I wanted my son to get the same exposure that I got as a child, so Apeejay was the most obvious choice for me. Besides, the school is located at the heart of the city which makes it very convenient for us to send our child there.

Tell us about your overall experience so far.

A very good aspect of studying at Apeejay is that it is a great leveller where children from various strata of society are given equal opportunities and exposure. The school’s academic programme is impressive. The faculty is very good and dedicated to their job. They know each child personally and are concerned about their progress. Overall, it is a good school.

Is the curriculum well-designed? Is there any excess pressure on students?

Not at all. My son enjoys his classes and is learning at a comfortable pace. The credit goes to Apeejay which tries to maintain a fine balance without putting undue pressure on students.

How has the school helped Animesh evolve over the years?

Animesh is the Vice Head Boy of the school. He has been doing very well not just in terms of academics but also co-curricular activities. He is a good singer too. Of course, children’s physical development was hampered while being stuck at home due to the pandemic but otherwise, he has shown a lot of improvement over the years.
