Beginning of a new academic session is always an auspicious time – a time when a fresh bunch of students join college and bring along renewed energy. Session 2022-23 started with sanctity and enthusiasm at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Campus (AIMETC) in Jalandhar.

To give an auspicious start to the new academic year and seek divine blessings of the Almighty, the Institute organised a special “Havan” within the premises, in which students, teaching and non-teaching staff members whole-heartedly participated. The special prayer service was performed by renowned Acharya Suresh.

After invoking blessings from the God, freshers, teachers and staff members chanted the Gayatri Mantra and other shlokas while wishing for peace, prosperity and happiness.

On the occasion, Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC said, “This prayer service is organised to pay our thanks to the Almighty and seek his blessings for a pure and pristine commencement of the academic session. I believe that this prayer service will infuse more positivity amongst the newcomers as well as give us the energy and strength to execute our duties diligently.”

He further explained the significance of chanting ‘Gayatri Mantra’  while mentioning that this divine prayer spirals through the entire universe. “It begins with the chanter who prays for peace as well as wisdom, and gets pervaded in the entire universe.”

Dr Bagga also stressed on the holistic development of students and highlighted a quote by Mahatma Gandhi: “By education, I mean an all round drawing of the best in a child and man in body, mind and spirit.”

One of the faculty members expressed, “As we bow down before God, we are filled with renewed vigour and strength for the upcoming academic year.”

Kartik Sharma, a first-year MBA student said, “This havan provided me with a lot of positivity and I felt the power to perform all my duties diligently. I will give my best in the two years of my academic journey at AIMETC. I am aspiring to bag a job in the finance sector. I also wish to share my knowledge with my batchmates and learn new things from them.”

Finally, other faculty members congratulated the freshers on stepping into a new phase in their academic life and wished them a fulfilling and promising stay in the campus.
