Sumer Chaudhary is a MBA student at Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka. He has recently completed his 9-week internship at Neokraft Global Pvt Ltd and is elated to find his passion for coding and business combined in the newly introduced subject of Business Analytics. In a quick interview, the budding management professional opens up about his learnings as an intern as well as highlights how an MBA has shifted his worldview for the better.

Let us begin with your internship. Tell us about the work you did?

I interned at Neokraft Global Pvt Ltd. The company deals in exports of home furniture like table and desk lamps as well as other lighting equipment. I had to go to the office everyday in Noida; the internship wasn’t in hybrid mode.

With regard to my work, I was working with the marketing team and was making presentations and conducting the market research.

Did you get this internship through campus placement?

Yes! Dr Pragya, our professor at ASM, fixed the interview with the company.

Did the teachers groom you well for the interview?

Absolutely! We had a proper session before the interview with the company. They trained me well in all aspects.

How is your MBA coming along?

It’s coming along very well.  My specialisation lies in marketing and business analytics. This is the first batch at ASM where business analytics has been introduced as a subject. So, I see this as a great opportunity for me and everyone else.

How do you think business analytics will help you?

Back in the day, I was very keen on learning coding languages like Python. In the business analytics subject, we can learn coding languages as part of the curriculum. So I can merge coding and business research work with my marketing specialisation, making this my niche domain. I would be able to perform the best here this way!

That’s nice to hear. We are glad you are loving your time at ASM?

It has been lovely here. The teachers and students are fabulous. This is very different from the environment I found during my graduation. Everyone here is focused on the same goal of being successful, so the classroom vibe is very positive and growth-oriented. Teachers are always there to help you and one can ask them ‘n’ number of doubts.

How do you think this MBA will help career wise?

The MBA is making a great professional out of me. I was a bit childish before coming to ASM, but now I am gradually understanding how the real world functions and the MBA programme is grooming me well.
