A comprehensive orientation programme united parents and educators

Embarking on a new academic journey can be both exciting and overwhelming for newly admitted students. To facilitate a smooth transition and foster a positive learning environment for their new beginning, educational institutions worldwide invest in orientation programs. For the same, Apeejay School, Noida recently organised an Orientation Programme for the parents of newly admitted students for the upcoming session of 2024-2025.

The central goal of the orientation programme was to acquaint parents of recently enrolled students with the school’s principles, policies, curriculum, and various facets so that the parents know and understand their child’s educational path. The programme was designed to foster a sense of community and establish a platform for transparent communication among parents, teachers, and school administrators.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome extended to esteemed guests — Dr Jitender Nagpal, Mrs Anita Paul (Education Officer, Apeejay Education), Mr Deepak Bhalla (Deputy Manager, e-Learning), Pankaj Dhaka (Technical Expert), and the parents of newly admitted students.

Ms Tapasya Dixit, Pre-primary In-charge, led the formal welcome, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a captivating invocation dance performed by pre-primary students, seeking the blessings of the Lord Almighty. Dr Nagpal, the guest speaker of the event, shed light on the challenges of modern parenting, stressing the crucial partnership between school and family. He highlighted the impact parents have on their children’s learning, emphasising the need for emotional support through non-verbal communication. The session was highly interactive and seemed well-received by both, the parents and children.

Kavya Uppal, a student in KG B, also shared her two-year experience at Apeejay School Noida. The child expressed her immense gratitude for her teachers who have instilled values and provided opportunities for personal growth.

Mrs Anita Paul, outlined the school’s mission and values, emphasising Apeejay’s commitment to excellence. The legacy of Founder-Chairman Dr Stya Paul, focusing on core human values, was also highlighted. Parents were introduced to Moodle, a comprehensive management system, by Mr Bhalla. Mr Dhaka discussed the upcoming Parent’s Mobile App for easy access to school-related information.

Ms Ritu Kohli, the Principal of the school welcomed students and parents, stressing the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers. She highlighted the significance of teamwork between parents and teachers, urging parents to engage actively in school events, attend parent-teacher meetings, and explore volunteer opportunities. This collaborative effort is viewed as essential for a child’s success and overall well-being. Parents were also urged to pose questions, fostering a deeper understanding of their child’s educational journey.

The Principal also thanked the parents for entrusting their child’s education to Apeejay, assuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for every child’s development.
