A community visit that turned compassion into meaningful action
Apeejay School, Faridabad, Interact Club students extend support to underprivileged children
Community engagement helps students understand social realities while encouraging them to act with empathy and responsibility. With this purpose, students of the Interact Club at Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, undertook visits to two local organisations.
Supported by the Rotary Club of Delhi Premier, the students visited Roshni Education Society in Sainik Colony, Faridabad, and Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 7, Faridabad. The initiative gave them an opportunity to connect with underprivileged children and understand the importance of sharing.
Supporting education and well-being
Roshni Education Society works for the education and welfare of underprivileged children in Faridabad. It provides them with education as well as vocational training, helping them acquire knowledge and practical skills.
During the visit to the organisation, the Interact Club students distributed notebooks, scales, pencils, erasers and sharpeners. These basic educational materials will support the children in their everyday studies. Sanitary napkins were also distributed to promote hygiene and health awareness among girls.
The children were pleased and grateful to receive the supplies. For the visiting students, their happiness made the experience more meaningful and helped them recognise how even a thoughtful contribution can make a difference.
A lesson in empathy
The visit brought attention to the fact that access to education and menstrual hygiene is a basic right of every girl. It also helped the students see how small efforts, when guided by care and purpose, can bring positive change.
The experience proved both inspiring and educational. The smiles of the children left the students with a simple but lasting lesson about compassion, dignity and the value of sharing.
The students expressed their gratitude to Dr Neha Berlia, Co-Family Business Owner and Core Board Member of the Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, and Pro-Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, for providing them with the opportunity to serve the community.
