In today’s busy world, people hardly get time to express their gratitude for their loved ones. World Gratitude Day is hence celebrated every year to remind people to find time to express their gratitude towards society, people, and nature around them in a variety of ways.
There are many benefits of expressing gratitude, appreciation, and positive reflection toward people with whom we interact in our daily lives. It makes us happy. We should all be grateful for the wonderful lives that we have had. We should be grateful to God, nature, and the people around us. Keeping gratitude makes us positive and continuously encourages us to improve in life. There are a large number of things that we can be grateful for. We should be grateful to nature and Mother Earth for giving us air to breathe, water to drink, and food to eat. Nature provides shelter to a variety of animals. Beautiful flowers and endangered wildlife enrich the beauty around us. We should be grateful to our parents who selflessly work hard day and night for us. They do their best to provide us with all the facilities and to fulfill all our desires. We should also be grateful to our teachers at school who help us in providing education and becoming responsible individuals. They teach us the right morals and values. We should be thankful for the pets that we keep at home as they provide us with company and are faithful to us. They guard our houses and protect us. We should also be grateful to our friends who help us in times of need. They give us company and point out our mistakes when we go wrong. There are strangers also whose small acts of kindness play a great role in our lives. A person saving us from an accident, smiling at us, helping us carry a heavy load, or giving us a chance ahead of him when we are late in a queue are all examples of people to whom we have to be obliged.
The World Gratitude Day is the day when we should stop our daily busy routine and count our blessings. We should express our thanks to people who mean so much to us. We need them to feel how important they are in our lives. Not only will this make them happy, but it will give happiness to us also.
