PG Diploma students of Corporate Communication and Event Management at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) recently organised a press conference for the upcoming film festival, ‘We Care’. This is the 13th edition of the annual fest to be held on 15 and 16 December.

The film festival honours the courage and tenacity of the world’s millions of people with disabilities. AIMC aspires to highlight the talents of “differently-abled people”, their contributions towards the society, and recognise them as “specially-abled” through the festival.

The press conference had students as the panelists from the courses including PG Diploma in Advertising and Marketing along with TV RJ.

The panelists for the event were Mr. Ravi Kumar Labh, Ms. Priyamvada Chauhan, Ms. Lakshita Khandpal, Ms. Misha Sharma, and Ms. Grishika Jaggi. Our esteemed faculty, Ms. Pushpa Nair, Dr. Pijush Dutta and Ms. Mudita Raj were the main journalists.

As a journalism and mass communication aspirant, it was my dream to sit as a panelist. Today the dream was fulfilled. I spoke for my designation and felt confident about it. As a first-time panelist, I was excited and nervous at the same time. Though I spoke confidently, I was still thinking about the answers, I was going to be asked by the journalists sitting on the other side of the dice.

The key learnings from the conference are:

  1. Nothing is impossible, try your best and things will work out.
  2. It is easy to manage a small even. These small steps will help you in becoming a successful person in the future.
  3. It’s okay to make mistakes, since we are in our learning stage, making mistakes will help us learn better.
  4. Time management, even if you are on time, you have to balance the equation with the other clients.
  5. If your faculty is explaining something from their experience, you better learn it from them.
  6. When you are in a group, maintain coordination and support them as and when needed.

I would like to thank my faculty for giving us such opportunities that will help us in becoming industry-ready professionals. I am waiting for more press conferences and events.
