Understand data security threats and solutions 

Apeejay School of Management holds an interactive session in which the expert explains five key points for online security

Data security is the practice of safeguarding digital information or data from unauthorised access, corruption, or theft. And in this digitally-driven business landscape, organisations have begun to recognise the critical role that data security plays in securing their sensitive information.

Hence understanding the need to spread awareness on the same among budding professionals, Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka, recently conducted a session on ‘Data Security Threats and Solution’ for both first and second year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)  students. Dr. Anup Girdhar, CEO-Founder Sedulity Solutions and Technologies, was the eminent speaker for the session. 

Dr. Girdhar, who is an Editor-in-Chief, “Cyber Times Newspaper”, Editor-in-Chief, “Cyber Times International Journal of Technology & Management” and a Cyber Crime Investigator with 25 years of experience in the field of cyber security, started this session with his journey as an entrepreneur. With the audience, he shared about some of his major achievements including International Trainer for Hacker Halted-2010 at Singapore with EC-Council; Member of ‘International Cyber Threat Task Force’, Dublin; Member of ‘Association for Computing Machinery’, US; Delivered training sessions in CBI, CID, ATS, Indian Army; and so on.

While discussing the topic, Dr. Girdhar highlighted the various data security threats in using technologies and tech-backed platforms like social media, cloud space, google, Gmail, free mobile apps, etc. “Prevention is always better than cure. It is always better to take certain precautions while operating the internet,” he emphasised. Further, Dr. Girdhar advised how one can  safeguard his/her data by following the five key points: Precaution, Prevention, Protection, Preservation and Perseverance for online security.
