Teachers play a pivotal role in the development and education of students in schools. At this school all the teachers serve as role models for their students. “Through their behaviour, attitudes, and professionalism, they demonstrate positive values, ethics, and attitudes that students can emulate,” expresses Vikrant Sharma whose daughter Mayra studies in class VIII at Apeejay School, Tanda Road.

Excerpts from the interview

Why did you select Apeejay for your child?

First, the proximity of this school to our home. Second, it’s known to all that Apeejay is the best school which provides the most apt academic and extracurricular framework. When we started looking for an ideal school for our children, everyone around us suggested only this school.

How are the teachers here?

They are all superbly amazing. Each staff member here is like a second mother to my daughter Mayra. My daughter is extremely comfortable with every teacher and they all teach so well.

How is the environment and facilities at school?

Every teacher keeps themselves up to date with the procedures and style of teaching. They all use maximum advancements to ease the learning for the children. The only unfortunate part here is that the school is only till class VIII. I wish this could be worked upon and the school extends further. We are very comfortable and happy with this school.

How much do you agree with the saying – that school is the second home for a child?

I am again reiterating that every staff member at school is like her family. Whenever Mayra is at school, we never feel awkward or unsure. We believe that my daughter has gone to her second home. Both my kids on a holiday keep complaining that they are getting bored and want to go to school.

What kind of co-curricular activities does your daughter enjoy?

Mayra actively indulges into shot put competitions and she has won several Gold medals in zonal tournaments and during Block Level competition. Apart from that she is a vice-captain of her house and loves to participate in quiz competitions too. She has turned into such a confident young child and all her stage phobia has also disappeared.

Does Mayra share her dreams and aspirations with you?

Right now she wants to explore and figure out her true potential. Though she does express that she would like to become a scientist, or a lawyer or an IAS officer. But I am confident that she will definitely make me proud one day.
