‘This school is fostering ambition in my child’

Rajveer Kaur, the mother of Manreet Kaur who is currently enrolled in UKG at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, shares her unique perspective on parenting. Rajveer firmly believes in steering clear of any form of pressure or force when it comes to her child’s learning process. She emphasizes a philosophy that champions gentle guidance over strict enforcement, ensuring that her daughter’s educational experience is both enriching and enjoyable.

She also highlights the exceptional role that the teachers at Apeejay School play in creating a nurturing and homely atmosphere for students. How has been your daughter’s experience at school so far?

The experience has been incredibly positive. The teachers are highly cooperative, contributing significantly to the notable improvement in my daughter’s confidence levels.

As a parent how satisfied are you?

I am content with the teaching methodology that this school follows. It is an added advantage that my husband is an alumnus of this school. This played a big role when we were looking for a school for our daughter. He was very happy here and had a great experience studying at this school. This made it easy for us to choose this school.

Is she involved in any extracurricular activities?

Manreet actively participates in every activity at school. With a passion for dance, her name is synonymous with involvement in every event and initiative taken by the school.

Would you like to mention any of her recent achievements?

As mentioned, her enthusiasm for dance is truly remarkable. In just a few years, she has achieved over 10 certificates, excelling not only in academics but also in various extracurricular activities.

How do you support her education at home?

After she returns from school, I ensure she has some time to relax before we sit down for a study session together. We make it a routine to review and revise the day’s lessons at home. I also ensure that her work is up to date and that she completes her homework daily.

How do you spend quality time with your child?

I actively engage in playtime with her, while her father accompanies her for an evening stroll. Additionally, we make sure to take them out for enjoyable activities during the weekends.

What do you appreciate the most about this school?

I appreciate the excellent infrastructure at this school, especially the air-conditioned rooms that ensure the kids are comfortable even in the scorching heat. The teachers go above and beyond, providing not only academic support but also a warm and nurturing environment that feels like a second home.

What’s your parenting mantra?

I believe in giving my daughter the freedom to choose when she wants to sit down to study; I don’t impose any pressure on her to study at a certain time — only that she completes her lesson for the day.
