Fresher’s party is not just a way to welcome newcomers in a college but it’s a day when seniors and juniors bond with each other and unite to celebrate being part of the same institute. The seniors help the new batch of students feel at ease and adjust to the new surroundings in a fun way. So undoubtedly, the fresher’s party is one of the most memorable moments of college days.

Taking this legacy forward, Apeejay Institute of Design (AID) recently organised a “Netflix” themed Fresher’s party to welcome its new creative batch . The Fresher’s party showcased splendid performances by the students including dance, singing, mimicry and poetry recitation. Creating wonderful memories together, seniors and juniors participated in all the innovative activities with much fervour.

Harshit Ahuja (GDP I – Foundation) and Aashita Kotwal (PGDP – Interior Design) were crowned as ‘Mr. Fresher’ and ‘Ms Fresher’, respectively . As the theme stays to be Netflix, all the students dressed up as movie or web series characters. Anisha Yadav (GDP – Foundation) dressed up as ‘Gangubai’ and Faizal Saifee (GDP – Foundation) as ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S’.  Fully indulged in their characters, they were hence awarded the “Best Dressed” personalities. The senior batch also nominated a ‘Social Butterfly’ and that was given to Anubhuti Dixit (PGDP-Graphic Design). The ‘Precious Gem’ award was bestowed upon Aashish Soni (GDP  – Foundation).

Sharing her excitement Shradha Khurana (GDP – 1st sem Foundation) said, “Decorations, music, anchoring, dance, games, food everything was on point. The theme was innovative and interesting. Everyone dressed up as their favorite character. Interaction between seniors and juniors was fun.”

She also mentioned, “It was a great experience overall, right from the preparations till the end of the programme. Seniors indeed put in a lot of hard work in limited time which is highly appreciable. Students worked and dedicated a lot of their time into this, right from the script making till the final showdown. Teachers too took out their precious time just to make this event a successful one.”

Further, Anubhuti Dixit, who won the ‘Social Butterfly’ title shared, “ Each and every performance, hosting part, fillers, games and questions part, all were amazing and well coordinated. The most favourite part of the Fresher’s was when the judges announced Ms Fresher, Mr  Fresher , Social Butterfly, Precious Gem. My friend was Miss Fresher’s and I was awarded ‘Ms Social Butterfly’, so yes it was a delightful moment for us. We are definitely looking forward to more such fun events in AID.”
