This Delhi institute organises Mini-Marathon 2022: Run for Sustainability 

More than 350 participants from all age groups put their best foot forward pledging to achieve a healthy lifestyle

Inculcating the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka, recently organised a Mini-Marathon 2022: Run for Sustainability. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of more than 350 people from all age groups. 

The marathon was flagged off by Dr Alka Munjal, Director at ASM, Mr. P.K. Bharadwaj, (Retd. IPS)  Ombudsman Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission, Prof. Sajal Mukherjee, Director at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication, Dr. R.P. Hooda, Professor Emeritus, Dr. Alok Saklani, Advisor ASM, Prof. Kamal Kishore, Dean at ASM.

In the marathon, a total of 6.5 km distance was covered in which runners including youngest participants of  2.5-year-old to those at 75 ran this marathon. Out of which, 33 runners were felicitated with gold, silver and bronze medals under five categories. Moreover, looking at the participation rate from young runners, a sixth category was introduced for those below the age of 10. The medals were distributed by the chief guest, Dr. Rita Jairath, IFBB Pro Figure Athlete & International Judge, and Dr Alka Munjal.

During the medal distribution ceremony, Dr Rita Jairath, the first Indian bodybuilder and member of the Olympic Selection Committee, shared an inspiring life story of how she overcame her hurdles to become an athlete.

Further, Dr Munjal said, “It was a great morning full of fun, excitement, and fervour. Thanks to Team ASM and all the sponsors for their help and support. This mini-marathon was a great success.”

The event was sponsored by Nutrilite, exclusively by Amway, Bisleri, Pepsi, SRA Gifts and awards, Flex Appeal Fitness, Aarya Awas Hostel/PG, Lancers Counsel Services Pvt. Ltd., and Acro Paints.

This event provided a joyful experience thereby promoting the spirit of healthy competition amongst the participants. Further, the aim was to provide motivation to people of almost every age. The day was meticulously planned and executed to perfection.  It was a day filled with fervour and exhilaration amidst thrills and cheers.
