With so many schools offering different learning environment, teaching styles, and philosophies, it is recommended that you must choose a school for your child after careful research. Make sure to choose a school that not only matches to your child’s academic interests but also must resonate well with their social and emotional aspects believes Vinni Arora whose daughter, Ananya Arora, studies in class VII at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg.

“We were well-aware of the good reputation that this school enjoys and its long legacy. Hence, it was way easy to shortlist Apeejay for my daughter when it was time for her to start formal education,” Arora said.

In an impromptu interview, the mother says she is very satisfied with her decision of choosing this school for her child as the teachers here are extremely cooperative!

How has Ananya’s experience been at this school?

We are extremely pleased with the cooperative nature of the teachers at this school. I believe as parents, sometimes we are rude to the teachers but they always respond to us calmly with a respectful demeanor. Ananya thoroughly enjoys attending this school.

What were the factors you considered before shortlisting this school for your daughter?

We were familiar with this school for a long time — recognising it by its name, esteemed status, and outstanding reputation. Our desire has always been to find an educational environment that prioritises a balanced workload, and this school not only maintains such ethos but also provides a rich atmosphere for extracurricular activities.

Any specific activity that your child enjoys?

Ananya is highly active in sports activities like badminton. She has also participated in school badminton tournaments. Moreover, she mostly practices post her school hours.

Are PTMs held regularly?

I rarely miss any PTMs held at school. The feedback from the teachers are mostly positive. The teachers are well satisfied with her progress at school.

Any recent achievements?

Ananya is a very bright student and mostly scores distinctions. Recently she has scored 85% in her mid-terms.

How do you motivate Ananya to study at home?

As mentioned above, she is an extremely bright student and believes in self-study. There is barely any day when I have to remind her to study. She asks if she has doubts. Ananya has never opted for tuition. This is because the teachers at this school are exceptionally cooperative, always attentive, and responsive whenever their assistance is required.

How do you spend your quality time with her?

We live in a joint family where Ananya spends most of her time playing with her siblings and grandfather. When it comes to me, we go on outings on the weekends. I usually take her out for shopping, play, little treats, and many more.

What’s your parenting mantra?

As parents, our actions serve as powerful examples for our children. I consistently motivate her, emphasising that even if she doesn’t achieve a goal today, you must not give up. Dedication is the key. I instill in her the belief that nothing is impossible.
