The mysterious road

Mini and her mother recently moved into their new home. One day, Mini was walking her dog with her mom, when suddenly she lost hold of him and he ran towards a Fort. Mini followed him as she was new to the area and didn’t know about the myths related to that place.

The road to the Fort of Shadows was always deserted after sunset. The path felt weird and it felt like she was going in the wrong direction. But before she could do anything, she was lost. It was getting darker and suddenly she heard a rustling noise. Mini turned to see what it was but saw nothing. She walked ahead slowly and heard the noise again, this time accompanied by heavy footsteps. Later, the noise stopped and she got relaxed until she saw a large moving figure.

It was hard to see anything in the dim light. Suddenly, she fainted when the figure turned and looked at her with glowing blood-red eyes. The figure began to prowl like a tiger towards Mini.

As the figure stepped closer, she could see horns on its head dripping with blood. Mini began to run and the figure started chasing her. She called out for her mom again and again, and the road suddenly disappeared and came to an end. She was trapped. She turned around in fear and saw the monster coming right at her, his horns now glowing red. Mini shouted at the top of her voice.

She closed her eyes and clutched her knees, but  suddenly, it was all quiet.

Shortly, she felt a hand on her shoulder, she screamed, but when she opened her eyes, she saw the hand of her mother. She was on the road right outside her home. “Mini, what are you doing here? I’ve been calling you why didn’t you answer me?”  her mother asked.

The dog was with her. Mini cried, “I was being chased  by a monster and it was huge….and bloody….and it had fangs…and horns and..,” Mini collapsed again. Her mom brought her inside the house and calmed her down.

Since that day, she never walked alone onto that road again. When from time to time she looked out of the window, she saw a pair of glowing
blood-red eyes peering through the trees and she knew that the monster was real, waiting for her to wander onto the road, alone, again.
