The enigmatic visit of Ella

The Anderson family lived in New York. Like any other day, it was normal but it started raining heavily soon. The Andersons were having their dinner at that time. Suddenly, someone knocked at the door. The knock was so faint that they could barely hear it. Mrs. Anderson opened the door and found a girl in a blue frock with blue eyes and blonde hair.

“Hello!” she said. “I’m Ella. Sorry to disturb you, but I was hoping to find shelter for a few days. As soon as I find a hotel, I will move.”

“No problem, dear. Make yourself at home,” replied Mrs. Anderson.

“Thank you so much.”

The Andersons were very kind to Ella. That night, Lucy, the only child of the Andersons woke up. She felt thirsty, so she went to the kitchen. While she was there, she noticed Ella staring at her. Lucy quietly went closer and gasped at the sight of Ella. Her eyes were red. Moreover, her hair was black and hung over her face, frock was tattered, and she was levitating.

Ella spoke in a raspy voice, “Ah, at last! I was getting bored and hungry. So, foolish of you to come straight to your death. Now I shall feast.”

As Ella came closer towards Lucy, Lucy was sucked into the floor. Then, she somehow managed to open her eyes and found herself lying on the bed. It was dawn and she had a severe headache. She thought it was a nightmare but when her mother shouted that there was blood on the floor, she knew it wasn’t.

The mystery remained…who was Ella?
