Students and their mentor of this Delhi school shine in National Kurash Championship
While participants from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, perform at the Sub-Junior National Championship, their guide gets selected as the coach of the Delhi team.
Ayesha Khatoon of 6 A and Kunal Sharma of 6 B of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, made their school proud by participating in the Sub-Junior National Kurash Championship, held in Chhattisgarh, Raipur. At the same time, Ms. Samreen Khan, the mentor of these students, was selected as the coach of the Delhi team as well as technical referee for the same.
The students showcased a brilliant performance at the championship and were highly appreciated by the judges. Their vivacity and brilliance were fully displayed through their performance.
On performing for the national level championship, Kunal Sharma of 6 B said, “I practiced very hard for the match with my coach and she taught me amazing tricks. It was a new and wonderful experience for me. I am honoured that I got a chance to play Junior Nationals in Chhattisgarh.”
Adding further, Ms. Samreen Khan expressed, “It was an honour for me to be the coach of the Delhi team as well as the technical referee of the event. There were 64 students under my mentorship from all across the city. Seeing the young athletes perform and win accolades at such a prestigious platform was a sheer matter of pride. I hope that these occasions come frequently so that more students get inspired and develop interest in Kurash.”
