Run for Unity – A march to protect the integrity of India

Students of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park visit Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary to understand Sardar Patel’s legacy and his efforts.

15 National Cadet Corps boys and 18 National Cadet Corps girls along with their Associate NCC second Officer Chandrashekhar Sharma, Ira Chaudhary and Mahesh Kumar from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, recently participated in a ‘Run for Unity’ initiative. This was conducted by the District Administration, South Delhi on the eve of Unity Day- “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”.

The Run for Unity event began early in the morning from the SDM Office, South Delhi. During the event, children from different schools went to Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary to run. They were told about Sardar Patel’s legacy and his efforts in integrating over 565 princely states into the Union of India. They were also told about his astute administrative abilities and iron will.



Further, an oath was administered to protect the integrity of India. After the pledge, the unity march proceeded toward the lake. Subsequently, the participants were served refreshments.

In the end, a motivating speech and certificates for participation were given by Dr. Monica Priyadarshini, District Magistrate, South Delhi, to the participants who joined this initiative with the intention to preserve the unity and integrity of the country.

Sandeep Singh Kathuria, Principal at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park said, “Children of Apeejay School Panchsheel Park participated in the ‘Run For Unity’ to celebrate National Unity Day to commemorate the 144th birth anniversary of the Iron Man Of India Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. I urged the children to imbibe the ideology of Sardar Patel and remain united in times of adversity.”
