My name is Prisha Pradhan, and I’m in class 9-C, roll number 32, at Apeejay School in Sector 21, Kharghar, Maharashtra. I spent the majority of my winter vacation at home but also had a delightful one-night stay in Daman, traveling by car.
My home transformed into a haven of tranquility and joy during this winter break. One appealing aspect of spending the vacation at home was the luxury of uninterrupted rest. Vacations provide an opportunity for self-reflection and personal growth.

As the days unfolded, I found myself doing things that brought me happiness and made my days productive. Reading became my favorite pastime, particularly Agatha Christie’s mystery novels. Each novel served as a gateway to new ideas, perspectives, and understandings of the world. Reading these novels felt like being transported to another world, where the desire to know the ending required patience and time. Reading books can help develop patience.
The winter vacation also allowed me to explore my creative side. With ample time on my hands, I indulged in hobbies that had taken a backseat due to the day-to-day hustle. Activities like painting, which helps clear my mind, sketching, and attempting new things that sometimes failed. Painting, sketching, and experimenting help clear the mind and uncover new hobbies. Through painting, we communicate our stories and emotions, revealing inner thoughts to the world that we may not express otherwise. Painting is a symphony of colors and emotions, reflecting the artist’s growth and evolution.
Baking cookies, cakes, and bread was another enjoyable activity. Baking is an art of measurement and precision, bringing joy in both the act of creating and sharing the results – a tradition, innovation, and simple pleasures that enrich our lives.
I also had the opportunity to visit Daman for a one-night stay, reaching there by car. Traveling by car is fun, and we explored the beach with its black-colored sand, capturing some memorable pictures. We strolled through the market near the beach, rode bicycles, and relished delicious food.
Despite having homework to complete, I found it enjoyable and learned new things. Since my tuition was in the morning, evenings were spent having fun playing with my friends. It had been a while since I had the chance to meet and play with them. Most of the time, we walked, talked, or played badminton.
This year was especially precious to me as I made new friends and grew closer to them.
