Primary school students learn the importance of unity, integrity and harmony

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, also known as the Iron Man of India, is the principal unifier of modern India. He had also played a significant role in the country’s independence and unity. Thus, every year, National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated on 31 October, which is also his birth anniversary. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to this inspiring leader, the first deputy prime minister of the country, who played a major role in the political integration of the nation.

As an endeavour to solidify his motto of oneness and universal brotherhood, students of Apeejay School, Noida celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel thereby marking the National Unity Day.

On this special occasion, the school assembly commenced with an informative session and dance performance by the little ones. The students of class 5 prepared thought-provoking placards conveying the sentiments of the day with massive spirit and enthusiasm.

During the event, the values of nationalism, patriotism and knowledge of India’s rich heritage were infused in the young learners. Further, a rally was also organised by the students to promote integration and unity.

Addressing the students, Mrs. Smriti Samuel, Primary Incharge said, “The celebration was marked as an opportunity to reinstate our dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of our nation.”
