What are your hobbies and interests?

My interest in dancing developed when I was just 5 years old. I am learning Kathak from Kala Nidhi dance academy. Ms. Pragya Sharma Ma’am who also teaches at Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, is training me in this dance form. I will be receiving my graduation degree in dance in the next two years. Apart from this, I am also interested in academics.

What kind of music makes you dance?

I like fusion beats. Western music mixed with some Classical beats. A Saraswati Vandana composition by Late Pandit Birju Maharaj ji is among my favourites.

Do you recall your first performance on stage?

Yes. It was on my school’s stage. Looking back, I have always been part of the dance competitions at school and secured many first positions at inter-school competitions.

Your favourite memory in your dance journey?

I recall a certain performance with my group where we performed in front of Late Pandit Birju Maharaj ji. Our efforts were appreciated by him and that was a great feeling! It’s one of my fondest memories till date.

How was your online learning experience with the school?

Learning and understanding new things in the online mode did become difficult, at times. But our teachers made it easy through smart learning and powerpoint presentations. They also provided us with extra classes. Apeejay Talent Search examinations, meetings, events and competitions were all done online, very smoothly by the school. We worked hard for the school’s Annual Day programme. I anchored the event and that experience was new and memorable for me.

Five things you love about Apeejay Svran Global School?

Firstly, the teachers are very friendly. They create a homely environment for us. Secondly, my classmates and fellow students are empathetic towards each other. They are always willing to help. Thirdly, all the staff members are very down-to-earth and kind. Fourthly, our principals have been very encouraging. And lastly, our campus is spotlessly clean. The staff members don’t compromise on our health and safety. They make us feel comfortable.

What are the new things on the school campus?

Post Covid-19, the school has doubled its efforts to ensure our health and safety. We are advised to wear masks and observe social distancing in the school premises. Our campus too has become very beautiful.
