“It is not a disgrace if dreams are unfulfilled, but it is a disgrace if we have no dreams to dream!”- Dr Stya Paul

On the sunny autumn morning of October 4, Apeejay School, Pitampura celebrated the 102nd birth anniversary of its founder and former chairman, Dr Stya Paul.

Students from Devotion house of the school organised a special assembly on this occasion. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Principal Mrs Veena Goel. Mrs Goel addressed the students by sharing some values and principles embodied by Dr Paul during the course of his life. She stated “Dr Paul firmly believed that work is worship. Hard work, fearlessness and love for truth enabled him in his quest for excellence.”

Following it, the students saw a soulful Ganesh Stuti performance through various forms of Indian classical dance by Prakriti Bhardwaj to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesh; the embodiment of new beginnings.

An ensemble of budding musicians of the school along with the fine arts teachers put on a mesmerising rendition of devotional hymns.  Dr Paul’s favourite bhajan ‘Hey srishti ke rachnakar’ was sung melodiously by Divyanshi Madan of class 9.

Shreya Sharma, a student of class 7, recited her self-composed poem ‘Who he might be?’ paying a tribute to the founder’s contribution in the field of education.

Vartika Sharma of class 10, Aaditya Sharma of class 11, Abeer Khanna of class 7 and Mansha Bhatia of class 10 came forward with a talk show titled ‘Apeejay Airs’, in which they shared emotions of reverence towards the founder chairman, by enacting as alumni visiting the school after long.

The assembly also included a visual presentation on the life of Dr Stya Paul.  In many ways, Dr Paul’s life was full of struggles but through his immense patience and resilience he managed to convert them into opportunities of growth.

The assembly concluded with students listening to the school song ‘Hum Apeejay ke Bacche’ with pride.

The assembly renewed the school’s commitment towards both cherishing as well as emulating the ideals and visions set by beloved founder chairman, Dr Stya Paul.
