Birds are said to be the messengers of God. I like to watch birds and make their drawings. So, I was very excited when a plan was made to visit the Chandigarh Bird Park, which is built in a large area and situated just behind the famous Sukhna Lake. We went to the park with my parents and grandparents at around 11:30 am. It was very cold outside but I was so excited that I did not feel the chilling weather. It was a 15 minutes drive from our place, we purchased tickets at the counter and went inside.

First, we saw a small aviary with colourful birds called Budgerigars and Love Birds. To get more information, I read the charts that displayed the features of the birds. On the other side of the path, many herbs and shrubs beautified the surroundings and provided a natural habitat for the birds.

Then we came to the large aviary which had both aquatic and terrestrial birds. Aquatic birds were black and white swans, which swam in big ponds and it was an amazing sight to watch them. There were also decorative waterfalls that added to the beauty of the park. All around, the atmosphere was peaceful with the musical sounds of chirping birds.

Next, we came across the most awaited part of the journey, where tamed birds i.e Green Macaws were kept. It was the area where they would keep the bird on our arms. It was definitely an amazing experience for all of us. It was a memorable trip as I got the chance to spend time with those lovely birds.

Lastly, we saw some golden pheasants which were very pretty. I clicked a lot of photographs and videos with the birds to save them in my memories. We also purchased some souvenirs to take back home. Through this trip, I learned a lot about birds and their habits and came back with much knowledge about these feather friends.
