Leave a trail of kindness wherever you go!

“Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier. Be the
living expression of God’s kindness.” These are the words of none other than the epitome of
kindness, the saviour of humanity, and the quintessence of calm—Mother Teresa.
Her life-changing thoughts, if thoroughly inculcated, can work wonders.

I am fortunate enough to have experienced this life-changing, blissful episode. While recapitulating this anecdote, my soul is radiating peace and harmony. Right across our house, there lived an elderly woman, who was not only completely devoid of familial love but also suffered from numerous health-related problems. Despite all the odds in her life, she never missed any opportunity to serve humanity. She would happily live with whatever little resources she had, always willing to help others with open arms. Nursing grievances against God or those who hurt her were not at all her cup of tea.

I still can’t let go of her benevolent force. It all took place on a chilly December morning. Everything seemed to be shrouded in fog, and there
was no escape from the biting cold. I was hurrying to leave for school when I heard her screaming for help to rescue a handicapped person who was wailing badly. I rushed to the scene, and together we grabbed him and propelled him through the nearby doctor’s house. Having received timely first aid, he came out of the danger zone. She served as a perfect source of divinity and kindness to me.

In all, she firmly believed that whatever happens, it just happens because of our own karmas, and if the right approach is followed in the present, then all accounts could be settled peacefully.

Wherever there is a human in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and to make a difference. Kindness is nothing less than spreading sunshine into other people’s lives, regardless of the weather. Undeniably, the hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.

Therefore, a part of kindness consists of loving people more than they deserve, as one act of such gesture is sometimes enough to change a person’s whole life. Last but not least, kindness is an electrical spark of life that runs through all kingdoms and has a reciprocal action when shown to others.
