Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, felicitated some of the finest teachers in the region at a grand ceremony.

The event aimed to acknowledge and celebrate the unique contribution of these teachers and to honour them for their lifelong commitment to improving the quality of education and nurturing the youth.

The teachers were felicitated with certificates and an award as a token of appreciation.

In line with Apeejay’s profound vision of “man-making and nation-building”, AIMETC frequently organises similar events to bring experienced educators on a common platform and deliberate over pertinent issues in the sector like the implementation of interdisciplinary curriculum or New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Dr Rajesh Bagga, director, AIMETC, talked about the latter during his address at the felicitation ceremony, highlighting its potential to make students more competent to fulfill their career aspirations.

“It is the responsibility of education institutes to shape young minds with human values, discipline, dedication, and civic sense. If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. So, if you educate a child the right way, you educate the entire state, which is a step towards change,” he said.

The address was followed by an inspiring video showcasing the life and achievements of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Co-Promoter and President, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group.

“The takeaway for me from the event is that one can achieve anything if one commit themselves to it. I think these words of Madam Sushma Paul Berlia have become one of my life mantras,” said one of the teachers attending the ceremony.

The discussion ended on the note that teachers should be role models for students. Simultaneously, their views and opinions should be duly considered when formulating educational practices and strategies.

The attendees sang the National Anthem which was followed by high tea.
