“Jago Grahak Jago” is a government-initiated scheme aimed at creating consumer awareness about events in our surroundings.

The key points covered in this scheme are:

-Preventing consumers against unfair trade practices.
-Ensuring the consumer’s right to access goods at competitive prices.
-Granting consumers the right to seek redressal against unfair trade practices and many more.

However, some disadvantages include:

-Shopkeepers receive very low margins.
-Shopkeepers struggling to cover the costs of cooling/heating items, among others.

The primary objective is to make people aware of checking the expiry date of items, verifying the MRP of products as well as understanding the rate at which the shopkeeper is selling them.

So dear consumers, know your rights when purchasing a product, and check the authenticity.
