Is it possible to be perfect?

Published

on

Are we all perfect? As per the research conducted by the Society for Disability Studies, humans may have one or several favourable qualities that are well developed but because of the multidimensional nature of humans, no individual can be denoted as perfect or unequivocally without flaws.

As a result of this, we all are imperfect. So, why are we running behind perfection in everything?

In the age of social media, everybody is trying to have a perfect body, a perfect mind and a perfect skin tone. But have we ever wondered if we really need to prove to anyone that we are perfect? After all, we are not a theorem that needs to be proven. The main problem is that we are running behind perfection and it becomes a major cause for sorrow.

Even the great mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan was told that instead of scoring 100% in Math, he should focus on all subjects like an average kid. But his hunger for perfection in only one field without running behind all of them, made him a great mathematician whom we all admire.

Even an engine with 100% efficiency doesn’t exist. So, how can we expect ourselves to be 100% efficient in all that we do? Rather, we should stop faking to be perfect, find our hidden talents, and give our best.

As it is said by the famous American football coach, Vince Lombardi, “Perfection is not attainable but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.”
