How digital transformation is enabling business success

Alumni connect with students to share their knowledge and best practices in a particular field form an integral part of learning and development. Moreover, to create an engaged, supportive alumni network is also key to an institution’s success. And Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) evidently understands the need to organise alumni connect sessions. 

The institute recently conducted an expert talk under its Alumni Connect Series on the topic – ‘Digital Transformation in Corporate Sector’ for its B Tech, B Com, BCA, BBA, MCA and MBA students. 

Ritul Thakur, Head of Digital Office & Automations at Acclivis Technologies Pvt Ltd, was the key resource person.  Thakur,  an alumnus of MCA 2001-2204 batch, is a competent professional with more than 16 years of experience in Service Management, Service Delivery, Design, Transition, Operations, Data Center Setup, Operations & Management, Project Management, Consultancy, Network Operations Center, IT & Digital Transformation, Cost Management for Telecom, Banking, Manufacturing domain and #Singapore Public Sector. He has worked with IBM, HCL, Hero Cycles, to name a few companies.

The session started with Thakur sharing his journey right from his placement at Hero Cycles during his MCA to the current position he is working at. Throughout his talk, he resorted to various real-life examples to explain to the students, how the digital transformation takes place in the IT industry from the traditional methods to the modern Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning supported systems.

He highlighted, “Customer satisfaction and its transformation to digital platforms using AI and machine learning can impact businesses in improving the efficiency of their operations and enabling large-scale automation. It is a complex process in which companies adopt new digital tools, technologies, and processes to fundamentally transform their company.”

Following the talk, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC, appreciated the resource person, on how articulately he had conveyed some of the complex topics during the lecture. Dr. Bagga further emphasised that digital transformation in business has become almost mandatory for business success, and students can expect a load of opportunities in the coming years.

Dr. Rajneesh Arya, Dean, School of Management & Mr. Amanpartap Singh Pall, faculty at the School of Information Technology, were the coordinators of this expert talk. The anchors of the event were Jasmilan, a BCA student, and an MBA student Pallavi.
