Honouring our elders: Preserving wisdom and nurturing bonds

Published

on

Our elders hold a special place in our families. When we touch their feet, a traditional sign of reverence, we show appreciation for their wisdom and guidance. They impart valuable life lessons, which cannot be learned at schools or colleges. Their love for their country and their humanity surpasses that of the younger generations. With their extensive experience, they excel in handling various situations, and their opinions hold great importance when decisions are made. Having faced numerous struggles, they possess immense wisdom and knowledge.

Sadly, we sometimes witness a distressing trend where children abandon their elders in old-age homes, mistakenly perceiving them as burdens without a purpose. However, it is our duty to shower them with love and fulfill their wishes.

Our elders hold great relevance in our lives. They share moral stories with us, imparting important life values. Our culture and traditions owe their preservation to them. They are invaluable treasures who add vibrancy to our lives. It is crucial that we never mistreat them and ensure their well-being and healthcare. Additionally, it is essential to nurture their inner child and bring joy into their lives.

We should always hold deep respect, gratitude, and love for our elders, cherishing them in our hearts. After all, that is where they rightfully belong.
