Getting a taste of the advertising industry

Throughout my course at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), I have had the opportunity to be mentored by many industry professionals. Their expertise and guidance have been valuable in shaping my professional growth and contributing to the success of projects. Our ‘Brand Case Study’ is one of such projects. Since the inception of this project, we’ve had the pleasure to be mentored and guided by some of the brightest minds of the industry.

The recently held pre-production meet presentations gave us the opportunity to present our work to some of the esteemed guests from the industry. Amongst them, we had Mr. Arijit Sengupta, Group Creative Director, FCB Ulka; Mr. Babul Banerjee and Mr. Satish Kapoor, Founder, Brotherhood Foundation.

This experience allowed us to get a taste of how the industry operates and where we stand. As a fresher, it was a great learning experience. I can say with confidence that not many in my position get the opportunity to be mentored by their recruiters and I am beyond grateful for being given this opportunity.

While sharing their experience, members of Team Edellens said, “The pre-production meeting, we had with our special guests Mr. Arijit Sengupta, Mr. Babul Banerjee and Mr. Satish Kapoor was indeed insightful. They shared their views on our TVC ideas and PSA film idea, and told us where improvements were needed. Those points really helped us to learn new skills and made us look at our ideas from a different lens.”

Sais Manika Jain of CCEM and Shaakvi Kaul of ADMC said, “Our pre-production meeting with esteemed guests Arijit Sengupta, Babul Banerjee, and Satish Kapoor proved to be an enlightening experience. Their valuable feedback on our TVC and PSA films offered fresh perspectives and ideas for enhancement. The insights provided by these luminaries enabled us to acquire new skills and refine our concepts with greater finesse.”

I personally look forward to applying the knowledge and skills I have gained in future endeavours. We thank AIMC and Dr. Pijush Dutta, Professor and Program Director of AIMC for providing us with this valuable learning experience. We are grateful for the time and effort that was invested in teaching us, and we appreciate the guidance throughout this learning journey. We are confident that the skills and knowledge we have acquired will serve us well in our future endeavours and bring us one step closer to being industry ready.
