Photography tours are a platform for creativity. These provide students with an opportunity for artistic expression, allowing them to see the world through a different lens. A transformative experience, students get a chance to learn and explore their surroundings with a new perspective.

Thus, fostering a knack for creativity and storytelling among students, the Department of Applied Arts – Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, organised a captivating photography tour for the young learners. Taking a dynamic step in enriching the educational experience, the college took its students to the culturally vibrant city of Amritsar.

This initiative was a crucial part of the curriculum aimed at providing students with practical insights into the art of photography and fostering cultural exchange.

A total of 35 students, accompanied by faculty members, embarked on this educational journey to Amritsar, a city steeped in history and cultural significance. The primary objective of the tour was to immerse the students in a real-world photography environment, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to practical scenarios.

A highlight of the educational tour was the interaction between the students and the local community. Engaging with the people of Amritsar allowed the students to gain valuable insights into the cultural nuances, traditions, and daily life of the residents. This exchange not only added depth to their photographic narratives but also fostered a sense of appreciation for diversity and community engagement.

Expressing her views on this subject, Dr. Neerja Dhingra,  Principal  at ACFA, said, “It has always been our endeavour that our students should not be limited only to theoretical knowledge but should implement the knowledge practically and learn from the best.”

She further appreciated the efforts of Mr. Anil Gupta, Miss Anupreet, and Mr Kunj Arora, for motivating the students to attend the captivating photography tour.

The Department of Applied Art remains committed to providing students with opportunities that go beyond traditional classroom learning. This educational tour to Amritsar exemplifies the college’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded and skilled individuals in the field of fine arts.
