First-ever trip to the mesmerising destination

The first-ever tour of the Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) was nothing less than an unforgettable magical day. The journey began from the campus during which students and faculty enjoyed singing songs and dancing as well as shared bursts of laughter.

Our first destination was the Sam Sand Dunes of Jaisalmer, where we did a jeep safari and it was nothing less than a roller-coaster ride. The camel ride, sunset, and the sand looked more appealing in the desert. Coming back to our stay at the camps, we got a royal welcome with the dhol and tilak. In the evening, we enjoyed the local folk music with a sip of Rajasthani tea and snacks, followed by authentic Rajasthani delicacies for dinner.

The next morning, we went to the Longewala post situated at the India-Pakistan border. Firstly, we watched the documentary of the Longewala battle and then went on to the actual field of the war.

We visited one of the iconic ‘Tanot Devi’ temple on the third day. It was probably the last night of the tour, and to make it memorable, the whole of AIMC got together and danced their hearts out.

On the last day, we moved towards our final destination – the Jaisalmer Fort. We captured every bit of the fort along with listening to the stories from the guide. For a few hours, we went shopping from the local market and finally went back to our buses. My favourite part of the trip was the DJ night and the unlimited masti. As it is said, firsts are always special, and it can truly be said for this tour.
