Dive into fun and fitness: The joy of swimming

Swimming can be fun. As our country is surrounded by waterbodies on all three sides, swimming is naturally very popular among Indians. Besides being fun, it helps one to stay fit and healthy and so, one can continue swimming as it offers many physical and mental health benefits. Additionally, it’s a great recreational activity for people of all ages and one can make swimming friends as well.

Swimming improves coordination, balance, posture, flexibility, and is a pleasant way to cool down on a hot day.

Common swimming styles include Breaststroke, Backstroke, Butterfly stroke, Freestyle, etc. Some people who enjoy swimming take it to a competitive level, providing many health benefits due to the vigorous workout and the fun and thrill of competing. The distance swum in a competition can vary from 50 meters in a pool to much further distances in open water.

There are public pools throughout our city that are open to everyone. Entry to public pools is inexpensive, and many aquatic centers offer swimming lessons for people of all ages. All you need is a swimwear and a pair of water goggles.
