Apeejay Education Society recently celebrated ‘Founder’s Day’ on the 103rd birth anniversary of founder chairman and visionary Dr Stya Paul. To mark the occasion, Apeejay organised special programmes at its various institutions to pay tribute to the late founder.
Among them was Apeejay School, Faridabad Sector 15, which prepared a special assembly to mark a “day of gratitude”. The celebration began with a floral tribute by principal Anita Yadav. Students, on the other hand, paid their respect by singing soulful bhajans. Some of them also presented dance numbers on the theme ‘Soaring High is My Nature’, which is Apeejay’s motto.
The audience was shown a movie depicting the inspiring life journey of late Dr Paul. Further, the recipients of the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values 2022 were also announced. The award is conferred on students for imbibing core human values and diligently practising the same in their lives through actions, behaviour, and conduct.
Students who received the award on the occasion were Niyamat Khanna, Saptorshi Polley, and Riddhi Kapoor in categories I, II and III respectively.
The school principal read out a heartfelt message on behalf of the current chairperson of Apeejay Education Society Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia. In her speech, she highlighted how her father, who had a humble beginning, achieved success with the help of his valuable qualities like hard work, fearlessness and love for truth which stood him in good stead.
At Apeejay Svran Global School, Sector 21D, Faridabad, the students participated in a similar celebration where they sang the late founder’s favourite bhajans and presented dance performances. The event began with a mellifluous rendition of Ganesh Vandana, followed by a floral tribute.
The school principal Priti Wason enumerated Dr Paul’s numerous qualities and stressed the need to work tirelessly to achieve one’s goals. She also went on to deliver Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia’s message. The students who were felicitated with the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values were Saanvi Sehgal (Grade 7), Ananya Kaushik (Grade 8), Sanchi Bhatia (Grade X) and Anjani (Grade XII).
Aditi Jain (Grade IX) and Saanvi Sehgal (Grade VII) were also appreciated for putting up best paintings during “Rajeshwari Kala Mahotsav”. Maisha Rai (Grade IX) was applauded for getting a silver medal in a Karate Championship.
Dr Stya Paul was a renowned industrialist, educationist, freedom fighter and eminent altruist. His life was a perfect example of how one must fight all odds to achieve greater heights in his life. He was the chandelier of inspiration for one and all. His work and achievements and the legacy of excellence he has left behind will always inspire and guide Apeejayites in their endeavours.
