Divyam

According to Divyam, a Commerce student who secured 94.6% in the exam, “The feat was welcome. Honestly, I did not expect to score that high. I was pleasantly surprised to see my score card. All my family, friends and relatives applauded me as well.” Currently, the student is preparing for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) examination. His goal is to secure a seat in the University of Delhi for courses such as BBA or B.Com. After which, he hopes to pursue a degree in Management.

When asked about the environment at home, the student says, “It is quite encouraging. I live in a joint family and have a family-run business in Charkhi Dadri. To join them is my Plan B.”

His preparation strategy was to set attainable goals and complete targets in time. He did not follow a strict schedule, rather focused on clearing up all the concepts. “I also did a lot of mock tests and revision,” he says.

His favourite subject is Business Studies, while he scored the most in Physical Education. Further, he credits his educators and free YouTube videos for his success. Divyam is also a sportsperson and the former South African international cricketer, AB de Villiers, inspires him. Strikingly, he did not stop socialising or playing with his friends during the preparation time.

Mayank Mittal

Mayank Mittal, the second Commerce topper of the school scored 94% in the said examinations. Sharing a tip for his juniors, he said, “Make a timetable for better preparation. Study the exam pattern closely. Critical-thinking oriented questions can be challenging. So, do as many sample papers as possible.

Mittal is currently preparing for CUET entrances. His career goal is to become a Chartered Accountant. He too credits his school teachers for his academic achievement. “Dinesh sir who teaches Accountancy and Business Studies in the school was very encouraging. He taught us well and gave us time beyond school hours”. The student’s elder brother is an alumnus of the same school, who is now studying at IIIT, Pune.

Extra-curriculars go a long way

Chhavi Bindal

The third topper from the school, Chhavi Bindal, secured 91.2% in the Commerce stream. She says, “With due focus of a month, I was able to attain this mark. Besides, I kept on clearing up my concepts in the classes. I felt that the Accountancy exam was a bit tricky, but Dinesh sir, my teacher in the school, was very helpful. Without his help, this success wouldn’t have been possible.” Mathematics is among the achiever’s favourite subjects and she named her teachers and parents who guided her in the past year.

At present, Bindal is gearing up for a few private university interviews and entrances. Going forward, she aims to become a government official. Interestingly, singing and dancing are some of her hobbies. “The school gave me immense opportunities to showcase this creative side,” she expressed.
