The story is about two orphan sisters, who were adopted at a very young age. They always stood together through the good as well as bad times. The younger sister, Ella, was six years younger than her sister, Emma. They did almost everything together.

On Ella’s tenth birthday, she got a puppy, who she named Leo. She would take him for walks, play with him, and feed him. One night, somebody left the front door open and Leo went out. Ella got nervous and called her sister. Emma then told her parents about what had happened and then they all went out to search for Leo with a flashlight in one hand and treats for Leo in another.
They all were together, but then Ella felt like she heard Leo, so she ran away. Emma ran after her. That’s when they saw Leo in the corner of an alley. Ella quickly grabbed him and Emma was happy to see her sister so joyful. Then she heard cheering voices coming from a door, so she became curious. She held her sister’s hand and asked her to be quiet and slowly walked in. There, she heard people betting. She quickly understood that it was some kind of fight club.
After hearing that and seeing a cage-like place that is usually made for fighting, she was about to leave. That’s when Leo jumped out of Ella’s hands and began to run towards the ring. They both ran after him and suddenly found out that the place was a dog fighting club. Emma asked Ella to go and call their parents. Emma stealthily went towards Leo and grabbed him. She was about to leave when Leo started barking.
She attracted a lot of attention. She then saw that one of the dogs in the ring was Leo’s friend. Men were running behind her, but somehow she started to run, faster than she had ever before. She remembered that one of Ella’s friend’s dad, Mr Keller, was a cop. She ran towards their house. On reaching their house, she knocked. Mr Keller opened the door and Emma told him everything. But she was talking so fast that he couldn’t understand anything. She pointed her finger toward the men following her.
Mr Keller understood there was a problem so he grabbed his rifle and pointed towards them and quickly ran away. She took a breath and told detective Keller everything that had happened. He called her parents and on their arrival, she gave them a tight hug. That day, she and her sister had uncovered a dog fighting ring. They were rewarded for their bravery.
